PEACE-STONE

People’s composition is comparable to stones. Both have rough edges which can hurt each other. But rough edges are also chances for growth. The «peace-stones» show this, for standing as a tower they need edges. So they bond together. They also need balance for their standing position. Only with precise balance they do not fall - unlike human beings. These peace-stones stand in Greece, Cyprus and 2009 in turkey. It’s the symbolism to think about tolerance, peace, harmony and balance.

25.12.2008, Lorenz Rüegg

Lorenz, an artist from Switzerland, travelling with his wife in a Mobil home from Switzerland to India. Through Greece - Cyprus - Turkey is not a coincidence. «We want to get the people thinking about peace in Cyprus», said Lorenz. Could be possible, if people in the future see two stones one on another, they think on peace, it gives thousands of ideas for peace. There are Five! armed forces keeping the peace on this small country Cyprus. Provoked from two different cultures, the Greek and the Turks, they vanquish this island», completed Lorenz. «I come from a small country too, in Switzerland which live four different cultures since 700 years peaceful together.»
